There are very real benefits that come when making Jesus the center of your life. One of the benefits is protection. And, protection is God’s promise to us.
I’ve found that as a woman, knowing I am protected is a huge part of my security. I cannot tell you how many women I’ve met that grew up in fatherless homes and I’ve found that if a father is not present in the home, women tend to struggle with the concept of God’s protection.
I also used to think that God’s protection was contingent on my behavior. If I fail or struggle in one area, that God’s protection would lift from my life. I want to highlight that if you are right with Jesus and He is Lord of your life, His promise to you is that He will protect you. Trust me, His grace is big enough to carry you when you do not measure up.
Psalm 91:9-16 reads this:
“If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him. I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
Here are a couple reminders I want to leave you with:
God is not like our earthly fathers. Our heavenly father is absolutely perfect and does not change. He is constant and His protection will not leave you.
God assigns His angels concerning you and He has his eye on you all the time. And, His protection is not contingent on how you “performed” today.
I pray that you would have a revelation today of God’s protection over your life that would give you the confidence to step out in faith in ways you never knew possible. God is for you, His hand is over your life.
