Hey there, world changer!
This morning I’d like to talk a little bit about the importance of focus and how we can use this time of rest during the COVID-19 pandemic to refocus on the most important thing in this life, a relationship with Jesus.
I find it interesting that if an airplane is off even one degree from its course, it misses its target destination by one mile for every 60 miles flown. And, this means that the further the plane travels, the further from the destination it ends up. The point is that focus is important if you want to end up where you’re trying to go.
In my own life, I find it so easy to get distracted and caught up focusing on things that shouldn’t be the center of my attention. Sometimes these distractions aren’t necessarily bad things, in fact, they can often be good things like career, finances, travel plans, or the future. But, when I am distracted with the future and everything going around me, and not centering my focus on Jesus first, everything else is out of order. And, I end up going down a path I didn’t intend to go down.
The Bible says that God is a jealous God — he is jealous of his relationship with His children (Exodus 34:14). He desires a personal relationship with us before anything else in life. He created humanity to be in perfect communion with Him.
If you find yourself distracted and needing to refocus, I encourage you to seek first a good God who loves you more than you could ever imagine. Life may feel out of sorts at the moment, but the good news is that God promises us a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). And, His plans for you are beyond. But, if flows out of a relationship with Him. He has to be the center of our attention, focus, and our heart’s desire.
