PROMISES

PROMISES

I’m so encouraged and excited about the next 7 weeks because together, we are going to dive into the PROMISES of God.

I’m excited because this series is a reminder (for me too!) to get back up, fired up and pumped up for all that God has in store. And we’re approaching the end of the year and I love nothing more than starting the new year strong and ready to go. I encourage you to pay attention to what God is doing so that you too, can finish the end of the year full of fresh vision and ready to go after what He has in store for you!

A lot of people think that the Bible is a set of rules that every believer must follow, but I’ve found the Word of God to be full of hope and promises.

Let’s say I went to go pick up the mail from the mailbox and in the stack of mail was a letter letting me know that I received an inheritance of a million dollars. Unfortunately, I decided not to open the letter because I thought it was junk mail and left it sitting on the counter. I’m pretty content living my simple life and never thought I could experience a life much greater than what I currently know. But, if only I read the letter and understood the free gift given to me, I could access my inheritance and do far greater things with my life.

That letter is just like the Bible, full of spiritual wealth that has the power to drastically alter your life for the better. God has promised us things that go far beyond here and now, but impact eternity. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to just read about His promises, but I want to access them to fulfill the call on my life and do greater things.

Promises from God are different than promises from people. We’veĀ all been let down before when someone on the other end of the promise does not fulfill his or her commitment. But, that’s not the case with God. Hebrews 6:17 says, “God also bound himself with an oath so that those who receive the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given both his promise and his oath.” And in verse 19, it says, “This hope (in Jesus) is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.”

There you go, God’s promises for your life are sure and trustworthy and the good news is that they are a free gift to you! Take them, run with them and let’s see the amazing things He wants to do through our lives!
