Hey there, world changer!
Over the years, I’ve heard of God doing incredible miracles around the world. But, there is something special about the miracles that occur in third-world countries. One of my favorite missionaries in Mozambique, Heidi Baker, reported that 100% of the deaf have been healed through prayer in the community in which she serves. In addition, food has been multiplied, the crippled and blind have been restored and the gospel has spread like fire. I personally believe the key to the miracles happening in third-world countries is the desperation people experience for God. After all, in these countries, God is their only option for very basic needs. And, we can certainly learn something from them if we want to experience the miraculous hand of God in our lives.
In Judges 7, God commands Gideon to go to battle and selects an army for him. In verse 2, the Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many troops for me to hand the Midianites over to them or else Israel might elevate themselves over me and say, “My own strength saved me.” So God sifts out all of the troops that are fearful, 22,000 troops to be exact. And, then removes more troops until only 300 troops are left. It was when only 300 remained that God said they were ready for battle. And guess what? They won the battle.
My point is this: could it be when odds are against you and circumstances are not in your favor that you are being setup for a miracle or a great victory? You see, desperation for God is a good thing.
I’ve found myself asking for God to increase my faith, but it was in the moments in life when I was completely desperate for him and he was my only answer that I saw the hand of God so clearly. When he delivered me, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that God was “my God.”
So, if you are facing a situation right now that isn’t looking favorable, I have good news for you! God is not finished yet. You are probably getting setup for an incredible breakthrough, miracle or victory.
