Let go and let God

Let go and let God

Knowing the season you are in is important if you want to stay the course and keep moving forward. For me, the past month has been a period of waiting on God asking him what He has next for my life and I’ve been praying for vision. The verse that keeps coming to mind is Habbakuk 2:3, “For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, WAIT for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” I love that…though it linger, wait for it because certainly, it WILL come!

In the past week I’ve realized that sometimes we pray for God to move or speak, but we ourselves, are the very thing blocking God from doing so. Let me give you an example.

By nature, I am a planner. I like things organized, clean and in order. If everything could come packaged with a pretty bow on top, I would be in heaven. But, that’s not reality and sometimes life is messy. (Especially if you are in the process of building vision!)

Let’s just say life has been rather full lately and yesterday I found myself piled high with demands from work. I wasn’t feeling good and I had such a hard time letting go of my work to go home and rest. In faith, I finally put down my phone and laptop and began to rest. In that moment, I heard God say, “Now I can move!”

You see, too many times, we try to control. We try to plan. We want things our way. But at the end of the day, God is the one in control and His way and His plans are better. If there’s anything I’ve learned, God speaks in the quiet, when we are resting in Him. My friend, that requires faith that God has our lives in the palm of His hands.

If you are finding yourself swimming in chaos, could it be that you have not let go and let God? He wants to speak to you and sometimes we just need to get out of the way so He can do so. Xx
