“For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.” [2 Corinthians 8:12]
God called David to be one of the greatest kings of Israel, yet he was the youngest son and known as a little shepherd boy. God always chooses the least of those to influence his kingdom.
God called Paul to be one of the greatest missionaries of all time, yet before he had an encounter with God, he was relentlessly persecuting the early church. God chooses the lost to do great things.
Some of you today may not think you are qualified, worthy of receiving an assignment from God, or believe that you could possibly influence the world. Let me remind you today that God never looks for the perfectly groomed, “I’ve got it all together” people, but rather those that are hungry for more and are willing to travel along the faith journey ahead. God is always looking for a “yes,” rather than a perfect resume for his assignments. He isn’t looking for the qualified, he’s looking for a willing heart.
If you are in a season of being stripped down, I want to encourage you that God is stripping you so that he can rebuild your life to bring himself more glory. And when he puts you through that process – his intention is to bring you out of the other side better than before! Just keep going with it and know that he is preparing you for increase. The key is to keep saying “Yes” to God no matter how you feel because he knows what he’s doing. But it all starts with willingness, openness, and availability to what God is asking of you. If God is calling you to do something, he will provide all you need to bring you through successfully!
