Hey there, world changer!

Maybe five or six years ago, the Lord and I had a conversation about my writing. As we were talking back and forth, I told him that if I was going to write, I wanted some extraordinary stories to share with the world. Up until that point, God had already done so much for me, but I knew there was so much more he wanted to do in and through my life.

What’s interesting is that over the years, I’ve found that unfavorable circumstances or unlikely situations in life are a birthing ground for miracles. So, every time I’m up against a challenge or unlikely situation, I recognize that God is up to something amazing and it’s just another opportunity to give him glory.

I’ll give you an example from my own life. When I started working for an inner-city homeless ministry in San Francisco, I took a pay cut from my corporate job. My sister and I were looking for an apartment close enough to work so that we could walk to work every day. We finally found our perfect apartment, but the landlord said our salaries weren’t competitive enough to land us the apartment. Interesting enough, we both sensed that the apartment was supposed to be ours. So we prayed. Long story short, the apartment wouldn’t rent. It had been two weeks since we inquired and were turned away, but there were no other offers. The landlord eventually called us back and said he’d make an exception for us. He shared that he was quite puzzled because he had never experienced any issues renting apartments in this particular building before. But, my sister and I looked at each other and knew it was a miracle. And, guess what? God got the glory!

In John 9, Jesus and his disciples came across a blind man. In verses two and three, his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”

Just like the blind man in this story, we too may have a challenge or unfavorable situation in our lives that are meant to display the very works of God and bring him glory. And, when (not if!) the miracle comes, share it with the world! You may be the encouragement people need to hang on for their own miracle.
