Every year between Christmas and New Years, I always set aside time to reevaluate my life. I start with the positive, thanking God for all of the wonderful things He did in my life, but I also address that things that I need to change or let go of and identify areas I need to grow in. What I love about a new year is that it’s always a fresh start and I have a choice to make on what I bring with me into the new year.
The good news is this: God promises to give us a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). I do not believe it is God’s will for us to constantly struggle. He promises that if we obey His word, we will prosper (Proverbs 3:1-2). It is His will for us to walk in purpose, fulfill our God-given potential and to live the abundant life He promises us in Scripture (John 10:10).
Maybe you haven’t been walking with Jesus or know what your unique purposes are. Maybe you don’t know where to begin or how to start over. The good news is this, Jesus promises that if you seek Him, you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). And, it is never too late to start again. Our God is generous in love, mercy and grace and He is always willing to meet you right where you’re at!
